Sunday, 13 September Prague

It seems like a minor miracle but we all found each other in the right place - Prague airport - at the right times. Lorraine, Judy and Heather from Melbourne and Judy's friends Kim and Jo from London. A big thank you to Melinda for telling me there were two terminals at Prague, as I came in at a different one from the others.

We had adventures finding our apartment, but saw a lot of Prague in the process, as our driver took us down and around tiny one way streets in the old town. We had been told that Prague is a beautiful city and were not disappointed. Our apartment is right in the centre of the old town with amazing views from our fourth floor windows. Judy has a few saints watching over her sleep from the church across the road so I'm pretty sure she will wake refreshed.

Once we'd had a reviving cup of tea, we set out to explore, and joined throngs of tourists in the Old Town Square. Beautiful buildings all around, the famous astronomical clock and lots of street performers. We had a great time window shopping, knowing that the first day of our holiday was not the right time to buy crystal or anything else that we'd have to lug around Europe for 5 weeks.

After an early dinner we came home for another cup of tea and bed, as we were all fading fast after the long journey. Kim and Jo go home tomorrow evening so we need to be up and at it in the morning.

Just loved this Buddha in Hong Kong Airport. He is made from cans of fish and is part of an art project which will eventually be dismantled and sent to people in need.

  1. Greetings from currently torrential San Christobal in Mexico (2000 M) where we also enjoy street performers usually at traffic stops. Fire breathers are a bit of a concern?
