We are tucked up in our room at the Hayden Motel after a very big day of travel. I left home at 5.30 this morning, picked up Lorraine and Judy, and headed to the airport for our flight to Perth. Lorraine invited us into the QANTAS lounge while we waited for our flight. A good flight, though it left half an hour late.
On arrival in Perth we said goodbye to Lorraine, who is heading north with a Perth friend, and picked up our Avis hire car - a Toyota C-HR. The boot only fits Judy’s case and the back door handles are in an unusual, but actually very practical position and it goes like the clappers.
We had a very comfortable 350 km drive to Hayden, stopping for a cuppa in the beautiful little town of York.
Dinner was not a Cordon Bleu affair by any stretch of the imagination but it will keep us going till tomorrow. Our room has a few idiosyncrasies. If the heater is on you can’t watch tv or have the bedside lights on and vice versa. Judy is about to put the kettle on so anything could happen.
Ready for a good night’s sleep before tomorrow’s adventures.
So excited to see you have begun your adventure. Hope the weather is better than here. Arctic wind and rain yesterday. I worked at the school. Lovely 1/2 class. But wet day programme. So many kids away with flu or Covid. Torah has had flu and been really sick for a week. Finally improving. Enjoy the trip.
