Helsinki - in transit

An uneventful flight to Helsinki and for once I wasn’t cold in the plane, or the airports. I have to say that those horrible DVT travel socks really do the trick. After 24 hours of travel I’ve still got ankles. It’s about a 3 hour wait in Helsinki. I arrived about 3.30 and it was dark by 4.00. Feels late at night and it’s still only 5.10!

I’m seeing some beautiful knitwear and jackets on people in the airport. They know how to dress for winter. I looked at gloves in one of the shops in Hong Kong airport but they were too small and cost about $1000! I’ve decided that the ones from the Upwey supermarket will do very well.

The plane from Hong Kong had a couple of cameras showing the view forward and below. There was a lot of snow over Mongolia and Russia, but Helsinki is just rainy. Wonder what I’ll find in Oslo.
